A Fall Day

No sun today.
No rays reflecting off the reds, yellows, browns, and greens
of the fall landscape.
Misty rain falls momentarily from gray clouds which hug
closely to the earth link a blanket.
Wet leaves underfoot slip and slide across the sidewalk as
the car meanders on its monotonous journey to work.
Cold, drafty windows whistle with the wind and
the chill wafts through the classroom.
Sleepy students sit silently studious;
But I've got my coffee.
